Join us for CLA's third quarter virtual safety group training. The livestock producer safety training will include two agriculture safety presentations covering animal handling and vaccination safety, worth 2 safety training credits for CLA Safety Group Members.

12:35 - 1:20 - UNDERSTANDING CATTLE BEHAVIOR TO IMPROVE HUMAN AND ANIMAL SAFETY, Libby Bigler, Colorado Beef Quality Assurance

This presentation will cover the basic principles of cattle behavior, effective communication with cattle and provide tips on handling cattle using pressure and release. The session will focus on appropriate handling techniques to optimize safety for cattle handlers, cattle and the final product.

1:20 - 2:00 - VACCINE SAFETY AND HANDLING, Libby Bigler, Colorado Beef Quality Assurance

This session will provide insights about the importance of safely handling vaccines and offer tips for vaccine safety and efficacy. Throughout the presentation, participants will build understanding about vaccine types and function, how to safely store and administer vaccines, vaccine reactions, and the consequences of human exposure to animal health products.
